Dulu Dia datang ketuk pintu. Dia ketuk kurang talu daripada yang dahulu. Mungkin sebab pintu tidak ditutup rapat. Mungkin rekah antara daun pintu dan muka pintu menunjukkan seseorang/sesuatu baru melangkah masuk/keluar. Mungkin dia perasan. Lantas pintu itu terbuka, lalu dikatup rapat.

Lepas masuk beberapa detik, kaki yang melangkah masuk tersandung. Empunya kaki takut. Empunya kaki menangis. Empunya kaki takut terjatuh. Empunya kaki mungkin sekadar berpura-pura. Empunya pintu rasa bahagia -- akhirnya aku berkuasa.

Selang beberapa tukar ganti lembar, pintu itu terkatup rapat. Maklum, Si Gondol datang menyondol. Empunya kaki yang dulu melangkah masuk intai-intai keluar. Empunya leher turut mengintai. Leher terjuntai. Isi hati isi perut semua terburai.

Pintu terkatup. Benar-benar rapat. Jangankan disimbah, secalit cahaya pun tak masuk.

Tiba-tiba pintu itu terbuka lagi. Dengan deras. Kaki-kaki deras berlari. Empunya kaki dikejar anjing.

Dia meluru masuk tanpa memberi salam.
